Jacquelynn Kleist is an official Chilean. Not in the technical sense, she is still very much American, but she has had that life changing experience that everyone majoring in a different language hopes for. "I finally found myself thinking in Spanish for the first time last night. It is a hard feeling to describe. Of course, I usually am forced to think in Spanish when in class, conversing with my family, or (most common) asking for directions. However, this time I was brushing my teeth and suddenly realized that my usual mental recount of the day's activities was no longer limited to English."
Quite an amazing revelation, and just one of the exciting things that have been happening to Jackie recently. Others involve runaway horses, a Spanish version of Sex and the City, and paint-splattered freshmen with dead fish or chicken feet tied around their necks.
