Emma has finished her unforgettable spring break trip. She showered with a single bucket, danced to the riveting beat of a single drum, and had the single scariest moment of her life.

On a small road leading to the village of Kedegou, an axel fell off the bus and the vehicle skidded off the road. The bus driver was picked up by a UN vehicle and promised to be back in a few hours. When it started to get dark and there was still no sign of the bus driver, Emma and her fellow students decided to hike to the nearest village. Did they ever make it? Read the blog to find out.

Before that happened she was attacked by a swarm of playful children, hiked up a steep hill during a fit of tendonitis, and listened to tales of ancient Senegalese folklore. She has also posted an interview she had with a reporter from her Massachusetts hometown paper, the Cambridge Chronicle, that goes into some detail about why she chose to study in Senegal, what her classes are like, and how she thinks she is coping with the drastic change from America.
